System maintenance for waste forms and check your bin day look up

System maintenance is taking place on Sunday 1 November which may mean waste forms and check your bin day look up are unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Items not suitable for rubbish collection

Please do not put the following in your general rubbish bin or black sack:

  • Acids
  • Asbestos
  • Batteries
  • Bulky waste/large items (items over 25kg or which do not fit into a standard 180 litre wheeled bin)
  • Clinical waste, including syringes and infectious waste
  • Commercial waste
  • Corrosive substances
  • DIY and construction waste, such as plaster board, bricks and tiles
  • Electrical items
  • Garden waste - grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, plants, leaves, weeds, flowers and soil
  • Hazardous waste
  • Hot ashes
  • Oil waste
  • Paint tins
  • Recyclable items
  • Rubble, stone, soil and gravel
